It serves on its own with soy sauce and ginger. It also serves the simmered (nimono), stir-fried (itamemono), and hodgepodge (ohden). Provides delicious vegetarian dishes.

Main Ingredients
1 block fresh soft Tofu or firm Tofu
some canola or vegetable oil

Recipe

Procedure
Put a whole block of Tofu on a strainer covered with paper towel. On top of the towel put something weighing approximately two medium size dishes. Wait until drain off for 30 minutes. And then cut it into 2 inch thick pieces.
In a large deep skillet, heat 2 inch deep oil to 360 degrees F.
Cook the Tofu in oil for about 2minute or until outside is golden brown. Inside should remain unchanged. Drain the Tofu on paper towel.
